First Interview Meeting Between Avian Conservation Uganda and Next Media/NBS

Avian Conservation Uganda, represented by Godfrey, Founder of Avian Conservation Uganda, and Allan, who is the a founder member and the Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Run 4 Birds 2nd Edition, held a successful introductory interview meeting with the Next Media/NBS team to discuss collaboration and the impact of the upcoming Run 4 Birds event.

The discussion focused on the following key areas:

  1. Promoting Birding Tourism in Uganda: The meeting highlighted the Run 4 Birds as a unique platform to showcase Uganda’s exceptional birdlife and position the country as a leading birdwatching destination, attracting both local and international visitors.
  2. Improving Public Health: Participants emphasized that the run encourages healthy lifestyles through physical activity while connecting people with nature, demonstrating the link between personal well-being and environmental conservation.
  3. Supporting Sustainable Bird Conservation: The event was recognized as a long-term conservation initiative capable of generating public support, partnerships, and resources for protecting Uganda’s bird species and their habitats.
  4. Increasing Conservation Awareness: The Run 4 Birds was acknowledged as an effective public engagement campaign that can educate communities about the importance of bird conservation and inspire greater participation in environmental stewardship.
  5. Building a Long-Term Partnership with NBS: Both teams discussed establishing a lasting partnership between NBS and Avian Conservation Uganda to strengthen awareness campaigns and support sustainable bird conservation efforts across Uganda.
  6. Continued Support for Conservation Programs: The meeting also explored opportunities for NBS to support Avian Conservation Uganda’s broader conservation initiatives, including public education, community outreach, bird monitoring, and future conservation events.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both teams expressing optimism about working together to advance bird conservation, promote healthy living, and strengthen Uganda’s position as a premier birding destination through strategic media partnerships..
