The Tiny Drummer of the Forest Edge
The Red-fronted Tinkerbird (Pogoniulus pusillus) is a small and colorful bird, best known for its repetitive metallic “tink-tink” call that echoes through woodlands and gardens. With its red forehead, greenish back, and yellow underparts, it belongs to the Lybiidae family, the African barbets.
A Small Bird with a Loud Presence
Though tiny in size, the Red-fronted Tinkerbird fills Uganda’s landscapes with its steady calls and bright colors. Its presence reminds us that even the smallest forest birds contribute greatly to the rhythm and balance of nature.
